With more than 25 years of experience in the beauty industry, I have built a career founded on leadership, education, innovation, and entrepreneurship. My journey has taken me from hairstylist to salon owner, industry educator, mentor, business strategist, and funding broker, providing me with invaluable firsthand experience in building and sustaining successful businesses.

Throughout my career, I have managed salon operations ranging from 1,000 to more than 13,000 square feet. One of my proudest accomplishments was becoming the first African American woman in Harris County, Texas, to oversee more than 40 employees in the beauty industry. These experiences strengthened my expertise in business operations, leadership, team development, and strategic growth.

Recognizing the gap between technical education and business knowledge, I established LaVontay's Beauty Academy to equip aspiring and experienced beauty professionals with the education, mentorship, and business strategies necessary to build sustainable careers and successful businesses.

My passion for entrepreneurship expanded beyond the beauty industry with the establishment of LaVontay's Marketing Firm, guided by our philosophy: "We Go Beyond Marketing. We Transform Businesses." Through comprehensive business assessments, strategic planning, branding, marketing, and hands-on implementation, we help businesses identify challenges, improve operations, increase visibility, and position themselves for long-term growth.
